In this issue of Reformulation we are truly branching out into unexplored territory. We have an article from Mary Dunn on spirituality and what it means to find the true process of spirituality and how to relate to our own particular God, rather than just the content of a particular religion. There are, of course echoes of this in our work in CAT, where we try to be practical and help people find exits and alternatives to the unhelpful cycles that they are stuck in – paying attention to the content of their real difficulties – but at the same time try to capture the process of their relationship with us. This attention to process is often powerful as an agent for change. Rachel Akande’s paper describes the ingenious use of little stick figures that can be moved around the diagram to demonstrate such changes in the therapeutic relationship and what is happening in the room. We also have an article on using CAT with parents, some poetry, and the remarkable “crapp-ometer” for the detection of narcissism. Do keep sending us in your articles, book reviews and announcements, and, of course, any letters or comments on this issue – we promise not to let the Crapp-ometer get anywhere near them!
