Potter, S., and Lopez-Real, J., 2002. A Tribute to Angela Wilton. Reformulation, Spring, p.4.
Just before Christmas I heard of the sad news of the death of Angela Wilton. Many of us in ACAT knew her well. Up until her illness she was an active member on ACAT Council. Angela was a training therapist to many, an experienced supervisor and a busy and talented therapist. Her psychotherapeutic activities and interests were varied. Angela had a background in psycho-dynamic psychotherapy, had a long standing interest in work with prisoners and had given a fascinating paper some years ago on a CAT perspective on birth stories. Her presentation last year on the impact of her illness on the therapeutic relationship was powerfully put and a courageous and enlightening analysis of difficult human predicament for therapists. It was deeply appreciated by the audience and was written up in the last issue of the Newsletter. Those who were supervised by Angela speak of her exceptional qualities of empowerment, warmth and genuineness. I know ACAT members would like to join me in expressing our condolences to her family and that in our community her gracious presence, her thoughtfulness and clarity will be missed. The summer before last after a council meeting Angela was telling us of her hopes for moving to Italy and it was there that she spent her last months.
