Following our member Kate Portman championing a CAT skills workstream in ACAT, and a research proposal from Glenys Parry, ACAT has commissioned a project to develop a competence framework for CAT skills. This would sit alongside the existing competence framework for CAT.
These frameworks are hosted by UCL in a number of therapeutic modalities (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/pals/research/clinical-educational-and-health-psychology/research-groups/competence-frameworks).
Glenys Parry, Ranil Tan and Kate Portman are the team guiding the project. An expert reference group (ERG) chaired by Steve Pilling at UCL will provide advice and expertise. Mark Draper, Steve Kellett, Karen Shannon and Natalie Stocks are members of the ERG. Its first meeting takes place in late April 2025.
Katie Marlowe has been appointed as the research assistant to undertake the literature searches underpinning this exciting project, which is due to be completed in the later months of 2025.
