A Brief Guide to ACAT's Council of Management

The ACAT Council of Management has responsibility for the day to day running of ACAT.

The Work of the Council

Their work covers a wide range of topics, from overseeing issues such professional regulation, ACAT's annual conference, appointments to ACAT, and organisational reviews. The Council is involved in the development of new policies and revision of existing ones such as the Codes of Practice in the context of legislation or change of practice from other bodies such as the UKCP.  

Membership of the Council

Members are co-opted, and include:

  • ACAT Chair (who is also Chair of the Council)
  • ACAT Vice-chair
  • ACAT Treasurer
  • Other Trustees as required
  • Chairs of the Training Committee, Exam Board, Ethics Committee, and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC)
  • UKCP (HIPC) Trustee Rep
  • ACAT Administration Manager
  • ACAT’s appointed Data Protection Officer

Council Meetings and Communications

The Council meets remotely, with regular email communications, and with the Trustees three times per year. It aims to keep members fully informed and up to date on key decisions from the Trustees and Council of Management through the Chair’s newsletter updates and other ACAT communication channels.  Please feel free to contact the ACAT office with any queries.
